Our client a well-established builder/developer is seeking a talented Financial Controller. This position will play a pivotal role in ensuring the timely and accurate preparation and analysis of monthly and annual financial reports. Ultimate responsibility for the monthly close and consolidation processes while providing comprehensive support to the Director of Finance in all facets of financial management, budgeting, and forecasting. Key Responsibilities:Develop and oversee accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GLs, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.Lead the budgeting process, collaborating with departments to create financial forecasts aligned with business goals.Develop monthly reporting packages thoroughly explaining variances to budget and prior reporting periods.Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.Manage cash flow and liquidity, optimize working capital, and oversee financing strategies.Supervise and mentor the finance/accounting team, ensuring their professional development and alignment with company objectives. Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decisions and growth initiatives.Coordinate and manage audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and overseeing tax strategiesQualifications:Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA, CA preferred).Minimum of 5 years of finance and/or accounting experience, including management or supervisory roles.Experience in real estate/development and construction industries is required.In-depth understanding of reporting standards.Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative, transparent environment.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of interpreting complex financial data and providing strategic recommendations.Ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision.Proficiency in financial software, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP systems. Knowledge of Jonas and Newstar is beneficial but not mandatory.
