We are a team of enthusiastic individuals who are dedicated to meeting and exceeding the needs of the customers we serve.Job DescriptionSalary Range - $50,000-55,000As a Credit Administrator, you will be responsible for credit application evaluation, approval, and administration of customer accounts. You will apply solid credit and collection knowledge and business concepts, to support and assist in the implementation of policies and procedures in all credit and collection activities of the organization. In addition, you will be responsible for the collection of funds while maintaining healthy profitable customer relationships all within an acceptable level of risk.Additional duties will include:Review new customer applications, determine credit risk, and open accountsEstablish credit limits for both existing and new customers collaboratively with Profit Centre Managers and Credit ManagerInform Profit Centre Managers of significant credit challenges, such as delinquent accounts, unauthorized customer deductions etc.Partner with sales team to create plans for higher risk accountsMaintain and monitor account payments and document collection activityContact customers regarding unpaid invoices, unauthorized deductions, reconciliation problems with repeated follow-up as necessary to achieve resolutionPerform credit reference requests, set-up and tracking of new accounts and credit reviewsInvestigate and resolve customer disputes; address short payments in a timely fashion that exceeds the customers’ expectations and benefits of the Profit CentreSubmit documentation for delinquent accounts for third party collections, bad debt reserves and write-offsMaintain detailed notes in the computer system for each accountWhen required, obtain proper documentation including personal guarantees and letters of credit/and or financial informationProvide back-up to other Credit team membersRespond to inquiries from internal and external customersAll other duties as required by the credit manager and company's day-to-day business operationsMaintain compliance with policyQualificationsEducation ExperienceDegree in Accounting or Finance preferred.Acquired or working towards the Certified Credit Professional Designation.3+ years of commercial credit and collections experience, or equivalent combination of work and educational experience.Construction industry experience preferred.Previous experience with or knowledge of plumbing products sold at the Profit CentreKnowledge, Skills & abilitiesKnowledge and understanding of basic accounting principles.Skills in attention to detail and accuracy.Effectively negotiates when necessary.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software (Excel, Power Point, Word).Ability to identify root causes of routine problems/issues by asking probing questions and the ability to develop recommendations for resolution.Experience pursuing tasks with energy, drive and follow through, especially in the face of resistance or setbacks.Skill in managing multiple tasks/projects along with the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment in a self-directed manner.Ability to utilize strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface with people at all levels within and outside the organization.Ability to maintain a professional customer service manner when dealing with dissatisfied customers and demonstrate empathy for the customers' situation.Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships across functional areas.Ability to demonstrate an attitude that makes a positive difference, take extra efforts to improve knowledge and skills to be the best in the profession.
