Our client, Kelowna’s leading Read Estate Developer, seeks a motivated individual to join their Property Management team asDirector of Property Management. Reporting to the Vice President of Property Management, the individual will be responsible for overseeing the management of both residential and commercial properties.


Director, Property Management Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operational activities and provide on-the-ground leadership with direct reports and other stakeholders.
  • Provide a leadership role in optimizing systems and processes; work closely with senior leaders to provide recommendations for cost effective operational enhancements.
  • Oversee certain aspects of assigned properties (leasing, market research, maintenance, budgeting, compliance to regulatory bodies, preventative maintenance and asset management, etc.)
  • Support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures to align with business growth.
  • Provide strong leadership and foster a positive work environment for all staff.
  • Manage employee staffing, development, and retention strategies.
  • Facilitate departmental training including education on legislation revisions.
  • Provide support with tenant relations and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal team members with new property building design/development for operational excellence.
  • Maintain strong functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Negotiate operational/service contracts and monitor compliance.
  • Establish guidelines to maximize customer service, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Provide on-site back-up coverage.
  • On-call, after-hours duties, as required.
  • Other duties as requested.

Director, Property Management Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant field.
  • 7+ years of property management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with leadership capacity.
  • Proficiency in Yardi Voyageur would be considered an asset.
  • Competency in MS Office and relevant databases and software.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial reporting, budget planning, forecasting.
  • Solid strategic problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and prioritize competing demands.
  • Certified Property Management (CPM) or Real Property Administration (RPA) certification would be an asset.

Director, Property Management Renumeration:
Competitive base pay, variable pay, annual merit pay increases, paid vacation, a comprehensive benefit plan, a matching RRSP plan, a general education & training program, and much more. The base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000, depending on candidate experience and qualifications. In addition, employees can enjoy paid time off each month to volunteer for causes they care about.
