THE OPPORTUNITYWe have an exciting opportunity for a Managing Director to establish and grow the Canadian operations of a leading global energy solutions business. Specializing in temporary power solutions, our client offers rental power generators, air compressors, mobile air conditioning units, and other temperature control equipment to customers in utilities, oil and gas, mining, events, data centres, manufacturing, petrochemicals and refining, and building services and construction.Reporting to the President of the Americas, the Managing Director will leverage significant growth opportunities by driving long-term outcomes and EBITDA growth, and driving business performance and sales growth across Canada, which may include mergers and acquisitions. The Managing Director will streamline processes, establish clear key performance indicators and accountability, and improve operational efficiencies while fostering strong engagement within a culturally diverse team. Additionally, this role will oversee six operations currently across Canada, positioning the business for extreme growth with robust support from international offices and contacts. This is a newly created position and a critical leadership role for the organization.The type of leader that will be successful in this role will be dynamic, driven, strong in both sales and operations, can build accountability and trust, and has a reputation for delivering exceptional customer service for their clients. The Managing Director will be based ideally in Edmonton, Calgary or Toronto, but could potentially reside in Vancouver as well, with domestic and international travel as required.RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and execute a robust strategy and plan that anticipates market dynamics and meets/exceeds the needs of customers in the region to deliver long-term revenue and EBITDA growth.Grow an independent business that can sustain locally delivered projects and rental requests to support the growth plans.Drive the day-to-day performance of the business to meet agreed performance goals (revenue, EBITDA, working capital, utilisation, customer satisfaction, health and safety, employee engagement) and future growth.Develop a cohesive and high-performing leadership team with strong people and performance management who are aligned to the vision and goals of the region.Actively manage talent to ensure the right capabilities are in place and developed to deliver current and future performance requirements.As a key senior leadership role in the group, expected to work cross-functionally to ensure alignment of ways of working and optimal use of group resources.Accountable for compliance with health and safety, environment, ethics, operating procedures and local legislation.QUALIFICATIONSA degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is an asset.Advanced degrees, such as an MBA, are highly preferred.Experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A).Proven expertise in leading and managing business transformation initiatives.Experience in managing multiple sites or locations.Demonstrated success in leading a comparable business, with a track record of revenue and EBITDA growth.Experience creating and presenting performance reports to executives, CEOs or Boards.Exceptional financial acumen with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.In-depth understanding of regulatory compliance and safety standards in the energy sector.Background in developing and implementing technology and digital strategies to drive growth.Thorough knowledge of industry trends, challenges, and opportunities for strategic alignment.KEY COMPETENCIESProven ability to lead change and grow a business, delivering significant year-on-year growth.Capability to create long-term strategic plans and drive day-to-day performance.Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.Ability to keep essential things simple, operate at pace, and communicate in a straightforward manner.Creative and innovative thinking to address business deliverables challenges and improve performance.Strong experience leading complex change and adapting leadership style to engage across multiple cultures.Expertise in operational efficiency and performance optimization, with a focus on streamlining processes and reducing inefficiencies.Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key partners, clients, and industry leaders.Proven track record in talent management, including attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.Ability to work cross-functionally and align ways of working to optimize the use of group resources.Experience in driving employee engagement and fostering a collaborative, inclusive work environment.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex business environments and market dynamics.A commitment to embodying and promoting values, culture, and long-term strategic vision. #J-18808-Ljbffr
