Information Technology Specialist

About the Company: Niche Technology develops and supports an advanced police Records Management System (RMS). Our current offering, NicheRMS, covers the full breadth of police operations as standard, out-of-the-box functionality that is available now and in live production use. This is our sole focus and line of business.Position: We are looking for an Information Technology Specialist to join the team. This position works as a member of the IT department at our headquarters in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Interviews to commence July/August with anticipated start date of September. Looking for a variety of Information Technology resources, if you have a differing skill set, please feel free to apply.Responsibilities:Manage/plan, implement, and support on-premises and cloud-hosted IT projects and systems.Perform advanced troubleshooting of IT systems and their constituent parts.Continuously analyze and improve the company’s information security posture.Assess and improve business continuity (HA/DR/etc.) from an IT perspective.Provide after-hours coverage as part of an on-call rotation.Consult with vendors on an as-needed basis.Provide technical support to Niche employees.Required qualifications and skills:Technical college diploma.3+ years of IT/network administration experience.Extensive applied experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange.Demonstrated understanding of contemporary IT infrastructure (SAN, hypervisors, etc.).Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN, etc.).Desirable qualifications and skills:Infosec/cyber security experience and/or certifications.Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.2+ years of IT management/leadership experience.Microsoft certifications such as Windows Server Hybrid Administrator/MCSE/etc.Cisco certifications such as CCNA/CCNE/etc.Microsoft 365 SharePoint/Teams/etc. administration.Linux server administration.Job Requirements:Because of the nature of the work and our clients, you must be able to meet the following requirements:Obtain a pre-employment criminal background search.Willing to complete police clearances and potentially intensive, in-depth interviews including fingerprints by request of police agencies.Be a Canadian Citizen or PR status.Able to provide photo identification.Benefits:Hybrid option of 3 days in office and 2 days remote.Modern office building with large windows, lots of natural light and 4th floor outdoor patio.Catered lunches on Fridays in lunchroom with espresso machine, free pop, and gaming consoles.Full on-site gym.Parking or transit pass provided.Generous compensation package.
