Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Goal-oriented Leadership: Develop, implement, and evaluate residence goals, policies, and procedures, ensuring high standards are maintained. Collaborate with staff on identifying and addressing both physical and program needs, fostering a culture of adaptability.
- Supportive Supervision: Schedule, supervise, and evaluate program staff, providing guidance, training, and ongoing support. Play a key role in recruiting and selecting staff, recognizing exemplary performance, and facilitating professional development opportunities.
- Person-Centered Approach: Provide leadership and guidance in planning and executing individualized support plans, engaging with staff, families, and stakeholders. Participate in case conferencing, case management, and the preparation of related documents, ensuring plans are up to date and reviewed as per policies.
- Effective Communication: Direct staff meetings on day-to-day operations, Individual support needs and training. Contribute to the development and updating of personnel and support related policies, fostering open communication channels.
- Financial Management: Monitor, authorize, and allocate expenditures within the operating budget. Assist senior management in budget preparation and maintain related documentation.
- Community Engagement: Liaise with the community, government, families, officials, professionals, academic institutions, and organization staff. Promote community involvement in the program.
- Safety and Maintenance: Ensure the cleanliness, safety, security, and maintenance of the residence, adhering to relevant policy standards and Licensing. Delegate responsibilities to staff as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Education and Knowledge: Valid Emergency Level First Aid Certificate with Adult CPR component, Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (MANDTS) or equivalent, Diploma in a related human/social service field.
- Training and Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of recent related experience. Administrative and supervisory knowledge & experience is desirable. Familiarity and experience with contract interpretation and proposal development are assets.
- Job Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, demonstrated leadership skills, ability to work effectively with others in a team setting, thorough knowledge of program issues, effective interviewing and assessment skills, proficiency in using a computer, particularly Microsoft word processing programs, good accounting skills.

- This position requires working in a challenging yet rewarding environment,
- The ability to function independently and under pressure while managing multiple concurrent programs, including emergencies, is crucial.
- Day-to-day and situational activities may require a moderate level of physical fitness.
- Evening and weekend work may be required.
- Being part of an on-call rotation
