Join us as we prepare for the opening of our premier 129,000 square foot flagship location in Ottawa!Position OverviewAltea's Boutique Fitness Team Leads (2) play a crucial role in creating an outstanding experience for our members. You will lead fitness classes, motivate participants, and oversee boutique fitness operations to ensure a welcoming and professional environment. This position requires a passion for fitness, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.The Boutique Fitness Team Lead is a social butterfly who acts as a team captain, supporting the department to achieve its goals through practical goal setting, encouragement, and coaching. They are accountable for swiftly collecting and handling member and guest feedback and complaints. These community builders understand their role as a brand ambassador and offer a boutique studio fitness feel within our Altea umbrella.To land this role you need to have:Post-secondary education relating to the health and fitness industry/recreation management is an assetMust have certification in group fitness or training relevant to their classesAt least 1+ years in a leadership role is an assetAt least 2+ years of experience instructing studio fitness classes and managing programs with diverse populations is an assetTech-savvy with well-honed marketing and social media abilitiesAmicable, culturally aware disposition with the ability to identify with broader societal causes and trends.CPR/First Aid certification (required to have a minimum of Emergency First Aid and CPR certification) required before the start date and must be maintained throughout employment.All team members must provide a recent Criminal Background Check before the commencement of training and work.This job might be for you if you have the following talents & spirit:You Have Leadership Skills: You can effectively direct the day-to-day activities of team members. You're going to take ownership of the time you spend with us and truly make a difference.As a Boutique Fitness Team Lead, a typical day might include the following:Create and lead semi-annual workshops in your assigned area (Yoga, Dance, Strength, or Cycle) to train and educate instructors on class formats.Teach a number of studio fitness classes per week.Conduct class evaluations as necessary and instructed by the Studio Fitness Manager.Lead by example and engage with all center users in a friendly, enthusiastic, and professional manner.Display extensive working knowledge of industry standards and practices, including product details and company services offered by Altea Active.Assist the Studio Fitness Manager with sub requests and entering changes in both software.Craft and propose new concepts to build and engage the studio fitness community (ex. social groups, social events etc.).Schedule studio fitness content publications across platforms.Engage with the online audience by responding to comments and viewer feedback.Exhibits unwavering authenticity and thoughtfulness about our company’s vested interest.Review your audience’s feedback to ascertain their insights.Ensure the safety of both team members, members, and guests within the area.Conduct regular walkthroughs of the studios to complete inventory and assist with maintaining the studio equipment (ie: AGF hammocks, Float Fit boards, Bosu and Stability Balls).Monitor department issues and member complaints to define patterns and work to lessen those recurring issues.Regularly audit customer service to ensure all service standards are carried out effectively, correctly, and thoroughly.Attend all relevant team meetings, contribute knowledge and advice to improve the overall performance of the department.Ensure all team members follow the proper steps for sub-requests and approved in a timely fashion.Cooperate with the Boutique Fitness Manager to oversee team members' performance and, if necessary, personally carry out job duties to ensure the highest quality of work.Create a cheerful and productive work environment that inspires proactivity and provides opportunities for advancement.Perks of this position include:Complimentary individual membershipGroup RRSP optionsMaternity/Paternity top upComplete training and development packageWorking alongside great people in a culture that fosters empowermentCareer-defining growth and development opportunitiesIn your cover letter, please include an explanation of why your experience is specifically relevant to this role at Altea Active.
