Job Description: Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Quality Lead to join our team! In this role you will get to work closely with Clients and QA representatives, Project Coordinators, Work Package Managers, and Superintendents, to ensure all project QA/QC items are completed to the satisfaction of the Client contractual requirements. Please Note this position is posted for ongoing needs for the project so responses to your application may be delayed based on when needs become available. Parsons is the Construction Manager of the Giant Mine Remediation Project. This is a world-class remediation project using innovative methods to deliver a safe environment. The project is expected to last over 10 years and is located just outside the City of Yellowknife, NWT. We are looking for a highly motivated and qualified QA/QC Lead. The Project QA/QC Lead will work closely with the Parsons’ Quality Manager and Work Package Managers to implement the QA/QC programs for each project. This includes ensuring that Client’s requirements are realized, making sure that construction quality practices are followed appropriately. The QA/QC lead will maintain a professional corporate image for the project. What You'll Be Doing: Work closely with employees and subcontractors concerning quality functions and daily inspections. Complete inspections for concreting work including rebar, formwork, embeds, anchor bolts, overall readiness for pours, pouring activities, post-pour inspections for repairs. Complete inspections for earthworks including subbase inspections, fill material verification, other work completed prior to backfill authorizations, and backfilling operations. Review subcontracted work, such as piling, against project specifications and coordination for acceptance. Review and verify compaction results and concrete break results from 3rd party subcontractors to accept the results. Complete and verify other inspections and tests for project work scopes. Coordinate with the client on project specific activities, including inspections and review of documentation for final acceptance. Responsible for documentation review, analysis, and maintenance during quality management system implementation including various reports, logs, turnover documentation. Support the implementation of CAR, NCR required from audit findings, in collaboration with the Quality Manager. Generate Non-Conformance Reports when required and coordinate with Parsons Quality Manager, Subcontractors, and Clients for disposition and closure. Support the Quality Manager in the development and implementation of the Project Quality Plan. Ensure compliance to ITPs and maintain the supporting documentation. Review and approve quality documentation from subcontractors. Control and manage document control process for Quality and Project documents. Conduct construction and final walkdowns with Parsons Superintendents/Work Package Managers and Client Representative. What Required Skills You'll Bring: Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience. 10+ years’ experience in quality control and/or civil construction including 2+ years in a leadership capacity. Experience with Concrete/Civil/Earthworks/Piling & Rock Anchor scopes preferred. Able to read and interpret civil drawings. Familiarity with other discipline (such as mechanical and electrical) drawings an asset. Experience using CSA A23.1/A23.2 is an asset. Competent knowledge in ASME Codes, CSA Code, and Building Code. Turnover experience is an asset. Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment. Effective and efficient problem-solving and decision-making skills; thoughtful, proactive, and creative. Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment. Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Not Applicable/None This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.
