About the Opportunity: The Vice President of Client Services (VP Client Services) is responsible for the delivery of quality, timely, accessible and integrated client services aligned with the organization’s strategic plan commitments and objectives. The incumbent will oversee the development and implementation of program business plans and budgets while providing support to client services teams to achieve organizational goals. In addition, the VP Client Services will foster, develop, and support relationships with community partners and funders, will demonstrate accountability to funding agreements, support continuous quality improvement, provide leadership in matters of client safety and risk management, and provide oversight to client services leaders and team members. The VP Client Services will report to the CEO and be based in Waterloo, with the ability to travel to all sites in Kitchener, Cambridge, Guelph, and Fergus. The specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: Provides leadership and overall accountability for the clinical operations and integrated direction of client services while establishing a clear sense of service priorities and the necessary resources to fulfill those priorities, in alignment with the strategic plan. Oversees the recruitment, orientation, performance management, professional development, and engagement of client services team members, identifying and developing talent within the organization to support retention and succession planning. Identifies relevant emerging local, regional, and provincial opportunities that align with the strategic plan, and collaborates with leadership to take action on these opportunities. Leads and participates in working committees internally and with community partners to establish and utilize a network of partners to provide ongoing guidance for client services. Demonstrates leadership by fostering accountability and continuous quality improvement through ongoing evaluation of best practice under the provision of client services and ensures those practices are compliant with all applicable regulations and legislation. Champions the translation of research into practice in collaboration with KidsAbility’s Rocket Innovation and Research program. Overall responsibility for program development, the delivery of timely and accessible client services and an advocate for increased funding to better meet community and client needs while employing the principles of client and family centred care. Oversees and reports, both internally and externally, on program performance and risk management strategies including the identification and monitoring of client services quality and safety indicators to support the organization’s risk management framework. More About You: To qualify, applicants must have a level of education, training and experience achieved at a master’s level in Health, Social Sciences or a related clinical discipline, in addition to a minimum of seven (7) years experience in leadership and operational management of clinical staff, as well as: Demonstrated political acumen, and experience supporting a committee of the board Commitment to interdisciplinary client centred care within a program management structure Clinical or management experience in pediatric healthcare and/or rehabilitation setting and extensive knowledge of the social service and community support organizations in service delivery areas Ability to work collaboratively in a changing environment, demonstrating effective communication, active-listening, and interpersonal skills while fostering positive professional relationships with all stakeholders, internally and externally An advocate and ambassador of the organization’s vision, mission and values, leading with purpose to support the strategic plan and objectives, with the ability to accept, navigate, and adapt through change, positively influencing and leading others to do the same Strong analytical, detail-oriented and organizational skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities, meet strict deadlines and have excellent follow-up Confidence in navigating challenging situations, effectively problem-solving to make and influence decisions using sound judgment, drawing valid conclusions, recommendations and plans of action Willingness to work occasionally outside of standard business hours Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of applications Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle with public liability/property damage coverage In addition to the above qualifications, the following skills and experience will be strong assets: Experience managing within a unionized environment Experience working in a not-for-profit environment We invite applications from those interested in this position to submit a letter of interest and resume to Human Resource’s [email protected].
