Job type: On-Site, 5 days in office, Full-Time Permanent Location: Centretown, Ottawa, ON (Parking included) The Opportunity In this role as a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will be part of a payroll team to process weekly, semi-monthly and some off-cycle payroll for approximately 500 employees, in addition to benefits administration tasks. This role works with other employees in the organization to support their activities and assist in ensuring they have the HR information necessary when requested. Responsibilities will include, at a minimum: - Process payroll for approximately 500 employees in three (3) provinces, including related government remittances; - Investigate and resolve payroll issues; - Create and execute reports for review and reporting purposes; - Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of annual government reports as required (EHT, T4, Sommaire Relevé 1; Revenu Quebec Remittance Reports etc.) - Assist in the administration of the benefits program; - Assist in the preparation of new documentation related to employee transfers, moves and promotions; and - Perform other related HR administration activities including new hire support as needed. Must haves: - Recent full cycle payroll experience - Experience with Dayforce HCM (preferred) - Knowledge of Quebec, Ontario and BC labour legislation - Experience with hourly, salaried, term and contract personnel - Ability to exercise discretion and sensitivity when dealing with confidential information - Experience with other related HR administration activities including new hire support, terminations and benefits Perks and Rewards for You We offer a comprehensive benefits package; competitive salary, performance-based bonuses, paid vacation and sick leave, and employer-paid family health insurance.
