If you are interested in being a part of this, consider applying for the following opportunity: As part of the Rogers DOCSIS Engineering Operations team, the “Infrastructure Specialist” will be responsible for support and administration of the DOCSIS platform. Reporting to the Manager of DOCSIS Engineering Operations, this position requires a strong background in IP Networking and deep knowledge of DOCSIS standard. Please note that background checks are required as a condition of employment. Who we're looking for: Serve as the last-tier support for IP/DOCSIS services on CMTS/CCAP devices. These services include residential voice, video, data, and TPIA networks. Assist in timely identification, isolation, analysis and resolution of network and service faults. Recommend unique approaches to problem resolution, situation analysis, testing strategies, and fault reproduction. Provide expert level support for change control activities including impact analysis, MOP reviews, implementation and post-activity verifications. Create and maintain all related network and support documentation. Collaborate with Engineering, Project management, vendors, various TACs and other groups to ensure seamless introduction of new technology, platforms and services into production. Provide feedback to engineering teams regarding identified network design and performance problems. Build relationship and collaborate closely with other departments across the organization and vendors. Be on periodic on-call rotation. Adhere to all applicable Health and Safety regulations in accordance with company policies. What you bring: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience on DOCSIS platforms. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience on IP networking, Cisco/Juniper routers, switches and firewalls. In-depth knowledge of DOCSIS standard is required. In-depth knowledge of routing protocols such as RIP, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, MPLS and Multicast is an asset. In-depth knowledge of internet protocols such as IPv4, IPv6, ICMP, TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS is required. Good knowledge of Python, JSON, YAML, BASH and regular expressions partnered with a good understanding of C, C++, SQL, Netconf, and Jupyter notebooks would be an asset. Strong knowledge of Unix and Linux operating system. Excellent technical troubleshooting, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills. Excellent teamwork skills.
