Senior Solution Architect (Cloud and Application Modernization)

Responsibilities: Design technology solutions based on client specifications, standards, and OPS (Ontario Public Service) technology constraints, while adhering to security requirements. Work with application technologies like Java, .NET, Microsoft Dynamics, and cloud technologies (Azure, AWS), and integrated networking solutions. Develop technical specifications, assess system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and recommend performance improvements. Formulate strategies for modernizing legacy applications, recommend new technology stacks, and evaluate technology developments. Participate in developing solutions and provide advice on service development activities. Manage and communicate project deliverables through OPS architecture documentation, presentations, and technical briefs. Qualifications: Technical Skills: Expertise in application technologies: Java, .NET, Microsoft Dynamics, and Power Platform. Knowledge of OPS platforms/services, integrated networking, cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), enterprise storage, midrange servers, and personal computer systems. Advanced troubleshooting skills, with experience in root cause analysis and performance improvements. Experience with technologies like React, Angular, Jamstack, Spring Boot (Java), and Oracle databases. Strategy & Solution Design: Proven ability to lead legacy application modernization and formulate technology strategies. Experience with large-scale, mission-critical server applications and system evaluations. Knowledge of emerging technology trends, with expertise in planning and sustaining complex development projects. Project Management & Communication: Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK). Experience creating clear, concise technical documents and performing technology market scans. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a track record for meeting deadlines. Must-Haves: Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud). .NET and SQL Database on Azure. Microsoft Dynamics 365. Web technologies (React, Angular, Jamstack). Java technologies: Angular, J2EE/WebSphere, Spring Boot, Oracle database.
