If you are interested in being a part of this, consider applying for the following opportunity:Who we're looking for:We're seeking a Specialist in Equipment Engineering Transport, Core and RB to be based out of our Mississauga location. The candidate will be a results-oriented individual with industry knowledge and technology experience who would be accountable to develop & manage the release of Detailed Design Packages (DDPs) from high level engineering plans, guidelines and other source documents from the various groups under Wireline Networks Organization and Rogers Business (RB).The Equipment Engineering Specialist works very closely with the regional HUB Implementation Specialist assigned to the implementation of the project to ensure that all required site level details are provided for the successful completion of the projects. This position will focus on the projects related to Core, Transport and Rogers for Business (RB) at the regional and intra-regional (national) levels.What you'll do:Planning and allocating space, power and connectivity for current and future deployments of network equipment.Designing and releasing Detail Design Packages (DDPs) to Network Implementation for physical deployment of equipment within Rogers sites, Third Party POPs, datacentres and customer environments.Using design tools like AutoCAD and asset management systems (Spatialnet) to input & update planning and build records as required.Preparing Bill of Materials (BOMs) and purchase of equipment on a per project basis via tools (ADM, NIO).Combining OSP layer details from upstream departments (fibre designs, splice packages, etc) with Inside plant designs, ensuring end-to-end solutions and designs are viable.Provide technical support to downstream implementation teams where required.Visiting PHUB & remote sites, completing site surveys for equipment installation and demarcation.Tracking projects to ensure deliverables are met on schedule and on budget.Providing project updates in workflow tools (Remedy, ADM) and Project management meetings.Generating purchase orders for contractors, delegating tasks, and ensuring contracted design & records input are completed accurately and up to standards prior to invoicing.Remote workforce administration via 3rd party datacentre customer portals (Equinix, Cyxtera, Digital Realty, eStruxture, etc).Represent the department in cross-functional process improvement initiatives.Remain current with the latest company and industry technologies, policies and standards.Beware and adhere to all applicable Health and Safety regulations, in accordance with legislation and related Company policy.What you bring:Expert knowledge of inside plant design and construction best-practices including telco hotels with building meet-me-rooms, datacentre colo environments, and associated demarcation standards.Practical Head End or Data Center experience.Proficient with Microsoft Office and the associated software.Familiar with standard computer hardware and interfaces.Strong background in fibre design, testing, and troubleshooting is an asset when working collaboratively with other teams.Working level ability with Autocad (Spatialnet).Understanding of all IP core and Transport Technologies.High level competency in passive optical designs (CWDM/DWDM/*PON) and corresponding active technologies.Operations experience is a strong asset.Self-motivated, organized and ability to work independently and in teams.Strong organizational and communication skills to understand and to be understood, have an eye for detail, and be able to put ideas into a tangible form.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Valid driver’s license.What’s in it for you?We believe in investing in our people and helping them reach their potential as valuable members of our team.
