Senior Data Scientist, New College Grad – 2025 The Global Data Science group supports our bank and merchant partners by using our extraordinarily rich data sets that span more than 4 billion cards globally and captures more than 190 billion transactions in a single year. Our focus lies on building creative solutions that have an immediate impact on the business of our highly analytical partners. To support our rapidly growing group, we are looking for Data Scientists who are passionate about the opportunity to use Visa’s rich data to address and deliver significant results to complex problems! Essential Functions: Use and build new predictive models to innovate and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, data insights, advertising targeting and other business outcomes Provide technical leadership in a team that generates business insights based on big data, identify impactful recommendations, and communicate the findings to clients Be an out-of-the-box problem solver who is passionate about applying data science techniques and innovate thinking to our unique data to help our clients both innovate and solve the problems they face Running projects from scoping to delivery, and engaging with internal/external partners Connect with clients to understand the challenges they face and convince them with data Find opportunities to craft products out of analyses that are suitable for multiple clients Work with partners throughout the organization to find opportunities demonstrating Visa data to drive business solutions Synthesize ideas/proposals in writing and engage in productive discussions with external or internal partners Provide mentorship in modern analytic techniques and business applications Prioritize and lead multiple data science projects with diverse multi-functional partners Basic Qualifications: 4 years relevant work experience with a master's degree in an analytical field such as statistics, operations research, economics, computer science, or a related field, graduating January 2024 - August 2025 Preferred Qualifications: Analyzing large data sets using programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, Hive and/or Spark Building predictive and descriptive statistical models using machine learning tool kit, Jupyter notebooks, Python, or others Presenting evidence-based insights and conveying relevant recommendations Previous exposure to financial services, credit cards or merchant analytics is a plus, but not required Work Authorization: Permanent work authorization to work in Canada is a precondition of employment for this position. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
