The FLYHT Aircraft Certification Engineering (ACE) team is looking to add a Senior Avionics Systems focused Project Engineer or Technologist to our team providing engineering services for the integration of FLYHT’s aeronautical products into various aircraft types. You will have the opportunity to work on designs and substantiations, prepare engineering data including reports and drawings, conduct airworthiness testing, and provide technical liaison both at home and abroad. You will also be working closely with the R&D and Quality Assurance departments in the design, testing and roll out of our products.

We’re looking for (not all required)
Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma, preferably in a related field (e.g. Avionics, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering)
7+ years avionics related design experience
Proficient with AutoCAD, DraftSight and Microsoft Office suite
Experience with communication, navigation, audio systems, flight management systems, aircraft electronic flight bags, etc.
Knowledge of Transport Canada, FAA and EASA regulations
Systems integration experience (FMS, Audio, etc.) on fixed wing aircraft
Experience on commercial aircraft
Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid passport (occasional travel required)
What you’ll be doing
Creating and checking engineering documents and technical drawings. Specifically wiring diagrams, wire routing diagrams, cable harness assemblies, installation drawings, electrical load analyses, systems & equipment substantiation reports, weight & balance amendments, installation instructions, flight manual supplements and instructions for continued airworthiness
Performing troubleshooting of problems and devising solutions
Advising, liaising, collaborating and coordinating with and between all internal and external stakeholders including delegates, airworthiness authorities, and auditors.
Providing customer and installation support both on-site and remote, occasionally outside office hours and on weekends on a rotating basis within the team
