Executive Director
The Executive Director has two primary areas of responsibility:
The ED is responsible for the overall leadership and management of The Men’s Centre according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors and in accordance with The Men’s Centre policies and procedures.
Secondly, the ED is responsible for networking, fundraising, and building a financially sustainable organization.
Detailed Responsibilities
The Executive Director provides leadership and direction in each of the following areas:
Networking
The ED is instrumental in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including donors, community leaders, and other organizations. This networking is essential for creating opportunities for collaboration and support, which can enhance the organization's visibility and impact.
Fundraising
A significant part of the ED's role involves developing and executing fundraising strategies. This includes identifying potential donors, crafting compelling proposals, and personally engaging with sponsors to secure funding. The ED acts as the organization's primary advocate in fundraising efforts, leveraging their relationships to foster trust and encourage investment in the organization's mission.
Financial Sustainability and Resilience
The ED is also responsible for building the organization's financial resilience. This involves not only securing immediate funding but also creating long-term strategies for financial health. The ED must ensure that fundraising activities align with the organization's overall goals and that resources are allocated efficiently to sustain operations and support growth initiatives.
Board of Directors Support
Participate with the Board of Directors in developing and implementing a vision and strategic plan to guide the organization.
Identify, assess, and inform the Board of Directors of internal and external issues that affect the organization.
Act as a professional advisor to the Board of Directors on all aspects of the organization's activities.
Foster effective teamwork between the Board and the Executive Director and between the Executive Director and staff.
Conduct official correspondence on behalf of the Board as appropriate and jointly with the Board when appropriate.
Leadership
Uphold TMC vision and model the organizational values.
Drive innovation and collaboration.
Influence and inspire inside and outside the organization.
Advocate for community and inclusion.
Champion responsibility and accountability across the organization.
Ensure that organizational goals are met.
Build the profile of The Men’s Centre and awareness of Men’s Issues in the community.
Develop effective networks outside the organization and speak on behalf of the organization.
Funding
Secure sufficient funding to sustain and expand The Men’s Centre’s operations and services for men.
Ensure budgeting and financial management meets the most rigorous standards for Not-For-Profit organizations.
Operational Planning and Management
Develop an operational plan which incorporates goals and objectives that work towards the strategic direction of the organization.
Ensure that the operation of the organization meets the expectations of its clients, Board, and Funders.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 21 per week
