We are looking for a Physical Security Specialist – CPTED to support our ongoing work with transportation and critical infrastructure projects.
The Physical Security Specialist – CPTED works as subject matter expert and advisor, supporting technical physical security projects with RHEA’s clients. They will be knowledgeable in performing physical security assessments, advising on Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design analysis, and exercise knowledge in security systems and technologies and their implementation, maintenance, and management.
Working as part of the physical security team, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of designers, technicians, and subject matter experts to deliver on physical security projects.
Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, this position operates in a hybrid working environment.
Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include:
Creating and writing professional documentation and reports.
Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design analysis.
Reviewing architectural, electrical, and structural designs and construction documents for requirements compliance and provide feedback to project teams.
Providing advice and guidance on concept designs, preliminary designs, detailed designs, and cost estimates.
Development of Threat and Risk Assessments for facilities.
Providing input on industry standards, best practices, and accepted approaches for the development and implementation of security mitigations.
Development of Security Management Plans.
Development of Emergency Management Plans.
Development of Security Awareness Training Programs.
Support the development and completion of security certification process.
Gathering, documenting, and consolidating physical security business, technical and functional requirements for new projects.
Consultation with clients and key stakeholders.
Provide site inspections and/or audit activities.
Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory:
The right candidate should have a minimum of five years’ experience in physical security.
Must have CPTED level 1 & 2 Certification.
Must be willing to learn and accept new and exciting challenges.
Must have the ability to obtain Government of Canada Secret Level Clearance.
The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:
ASIS APP, PSP or CPP certification
PMP certification
Post-secondary education (degree or diploma) in any field is considered an asset
