Job Summary:
At Teledyne FLIR - Laval, we design and manufacture complex radar products that include several RF components such as frequency synthesizers, power amplifiers, transmitters, antennas, and filters. As part of the Production team, the RF Specialist will work on the design, qualification, troubleshooting, calibration, integration, and production of high-performance RF components as well as complete radar assemblies.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Re-design parts of RF components to address obsolescence issues and/or improve products
Troubleshoot RF-related manufacturing issues
Develop RF components for radar products (frequency synthesizers, power amplifiers, LNAs, down-converters, transmitters, antennas, filters, etc.)
Product/component integration, testing, and release
Prepare and participate in design reviews
Evaluate efforts and risks associated with new developments
Follow company engineering, quality, and compliance processes
Job Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of RF design concepts (S-parameters, transmission lines, matching networks, couplers, power dividers, thermal and phase noise, linearity, etc.)
Experience in RF design in S, X, and/or Ka bands (frequency synthesizers, power amplifiers, LNAs, transmitters, antennas, feed networks, filters, etc.)
Familiar with PCB layout and schematic tools such as PADS and OrCAD PCB Designer
Familiar with 3D-EM CAD simulation tools such as CST or HFSS and with circuit-level CAD such as ADS, Genesys, or AWR Microwave Office
Familiar with GaAs, GaN, and PHEMT transistors
Experience with SolidWorks
Excellent analytical and learning skills
Autonomy and leadership
Good communicator and team player
Working knowledge of English and French languages
Eligible to be certified to examine, possess, and transfer items under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and legally authorized to work in Canada.
