Become the power behind the pour. Big Rock’s maintenance team is looking for a maintenance professional with a minimum 3rd Class Power Engineer or higher who will play a key role in maintaining the critical infrastructure that supports our brewing operations. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, as our Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, repairing, and optimizing our brewing equipment to ensure that it is operational at peak efficiency. This role must be critically aware of industry best practices, safety procedures, and proper repair SOPs. Leveraging your expertise, you’ll drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure reliable equipment performance while using your knowledge to continuously improve production processes. If you are a problem-solver who perseveres through challenging equipment repairs, or is willing to learn, we want to hear from you.RESPONSIBILITIESParticipate in the design and implementation of capital projectsCompliance with all ABSA standards and requirements, and reportingOperate, maintain, and perform maintenance on low and high-pressure boilersEffectively operate HVAC / chiller unit for proper ventilation and coolingAdjust controls and valves on equipment or computer terminal to regulate boiler operationsFocus on safe working practices and quality workmanship compliant with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)Complete preventative maintenance work orders as assigned and recommend revisions to improve reliabilityInspect, test, diagnose, and repair machinery and equipment including boilers, generators, pumps, gears, controls, and conveyorsRespond to urgent maintenance needs at all company work sites as neededConduct corrective work orders and address issues as they ariseOperate forklifts and scissor lifts, as needed, to complete work ordersPerform mechanical tasks requiring skills including, but not limited to, effective mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of packaging and brewing equipmentRead and interpret equipment manuals and work orders and perform required maintenance and serviceLiaise with other trades onsite to complete repairs, equipment replacements, upgrades, problem solving, and mutual assistance as requiredAbility to perform quality work independently as well as in a team environmentAbility to appropriately prioritize assigned backlog with limited supervisionWorking with Brewing, Food Safety, and Q/A, and Packaging teams on projects to improve functionality, efficiency, and safetyEnsure good housekeeping and safety in the maintenance shop at all timesOther duties and responsibilities may be assignedQualificationsMinimum 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate, recognized by ABSA, in good standing5 years experience as a Power Engineer requiredUnderstanding and familiarity with boiler and pressure vessel operation codeAble to read and interpret various schematics and drawingsMillwright License or Red Seal Journeyman is an assetMinimum of 5 years of maintenance experienceMaintenance experience in food manufacturing facilities is an assetFall Arrest Protection and Confined Space Training is an assetValid Forklift License is an assetFirst Aid certification is an assetProficient in Microsoft suiteSAP experience is an assetIf you are interested in joining a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, success-focused organization with an exciting growth plan please submit your resume and cover letter to the above jobs email.Posting Closing: November 30, 2024We look forward to hearing from you! #J-18808-Ljbffr
