Organizational Description: Valley Gardens Community Center is a growing recreational facility that offers programs, recreation, and drop-in opportunities to the members of its community. VGCC serves East Kildonan, North Kildonan, and Transcona areas.Volunteer Opportunity DetailsVolunteer Opportunity ID: 3140Description of Duties: The time commitment is minimal, the impact is immeasurable. Serving our community has an impact that runs deep throughout the communities it serves. Duties include, but are not limited to, organizing and overseeing events related to your position or any sub-committee that you decide to join. You will have a seat on the board, which in turn gives you a voice on how the club moves forward. Please consider joining our dynamic group as we move forward to grow and improve our club and our programs.As the Fundraising Director, your duties will include researching and applying for grants that are applicable to the club along with selling advertising for online publications (2 x per year).Skills Required: No special skills are required; training will be provided. However, being personable, approachable, and organized will be an asset.Skills Gained/Related Careers: Collaborating within a group dynamic and holding a board of directors seat. Develop networking and leadership skills. Navigate through applications and contracts. Work with civic leaders and politicians.Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+Time Commitment:Hours are varied and dependent on grant availability, events, and media.Location of Volunteer Opportunity: WinnipegDoes the opportunity require a criminal record check?
