Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Piping Designer . Reporting to the Mechanical Department Manager, this position is located in our Saskatoon, SK office. This role has overall responsibility for providing Piping Design support on our major projects within Mining Industries.
The successful candidate will be responsible for various aspects of the layout, design and specification of piping systems and components for industrial plants their related infrastructure.

Develop working 3D models, designs and drawings using company and industry standards and codes
Drawings include PFDs, P&IDs, ISOs, layouts, and other drawings as required
Provide conceptual front end design to full detailed design and material take-offs for industrial and mining facilities
Design, model and draft piping, pipe supports and auxiliary components in 2D and 3D drawing environments
Prepare and verify designs on site including creation of tie-in drawings
Review and check project documents for scope, presentation and technical accuracy
Establish good working relationships and communication with other team members to coordinate, ensuring the compatibility of design
Manage multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to identify, prioritize, and manage workload to meet deadlines
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, CADCAM, Design and Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Drafting and Design equivalent technical program
3-5 years' experience as a piping designer, preferably with experience in mining and slurry transport
Self-motivated with good leadership and interpersonal skills
Proven experience and proficiency with AutoCAD 2D/3D, AutoPlant, Plant 3D as well as AVEVA E3D
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks
Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Must be willing to relocate to the Saskatoon area, if required
Additional assets include:
Potash, Uranium or other mining experience
Design experience with specification generation, stress analysis and mechanical equipment layout, materials handling, and / or HVAC
Underground mining experience
Site / construction experience
Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
