A longstanding and well reputed firm in the heart of downtown Vancouver is seeking a senior wills & estate litigation lawyer to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity to work for an ambitious firm with an established file load ready to be handed over. ABOUT OUR CLIENT Prior to their expansion into Langley, our client has been well-established in Vancouver for nearly 2 decades. The firm likes to hire lawyers who are involved in their community and professional development initiatives such as attending/conducting presentations, contribute to writing articles or blog pots, and engage in continued professional development. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY The firm is looking to add a senior wills & estate litigation associate to either their Vancouver or Langley office location. With plans moving forward to continue bolstering the strength of the team already present, there would be plenty of work available for the incoming lawyer. This work would involve advising on various will & estate matters such as power of attorney issues, wills variations, invalid wills, claims against estates, contesting wills, and more. This is an excellent opportunity for the incoming individual to help lead and shape the culture and work environment for years to come. THE REQUIREMENTS Minimum 8-year call to the BC Bar Be comfortable with a billing target of 1600 Have experience with working on complex wills & estate matters Portable book of business a strong asset, but not required. Alternatively, have capacity and capable of taking on substantial file load COMPENSATION $180,000 annual salary; commensurate with experience Lucrative bonus structure - discretionary bonus with potential to earn up to 50% of billed and collected once exceeding billable target Comprehensive benefits package HOW TO APPLY Please apply directly to this posting with the most recent version of your resume.
