Director, Planning, Research and EvaluationDepartment: Education, Culture and EmploymentThe Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) provides the residents of the Northwest Territories with access to quality programs, services and support to assist them in making informed and productive choices for themselves and their families with regard to education, training, careers, employment and labour, child development, languages, culture and heritage.Job InformationAs the Director, Planning, Research and Evaluation (PRE), you will be responsible and accountable within the Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) for providing overall leadership, oversight and advice on the development and implementation of comprehensive frameworks and strategies for organizational strategic and business planning; evaluating programs; performance measurements and targets; information management; and integrating risk management relevant to ECE's mandate and priorities. You will also be responsible for managing access, privacy and records management requests, as well as the research and analytical reporting needed to better inform the department's program managers.You will work in close cooperation with education bodies, GNWT central agencies, other GNWT departments, professional associations, federal, Indigenous and provincial governments, academic institutions, non-government organizations and other interest groups as required. You will be a member of the department's Senior Management Committee, as well as a member of the Executive Planning Committee (EPC); EPC is tasked by the Deputy Minister to improve the department's planning and reporting functions.To be successful in this role, you will typically need a university degree in the social sciences or a related field and a post-graduate degree or diploma, plus 8 years of progressive experience, preferably in government, including at least 3 years of supervisory/management experience. Credentialed Evaluator designation and a project management designation or working towards those designations is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
