We have a team of talented and diverse self-storage experts who span across 15 states and 7 provinces to support and manage our rapid growth across North America. With over 50,000 units and almost 8 million square feet of self-storage space, our goal is to make storage simple and accessible throughout life’s transitions. Our team is searching for a knowledgeable and results oriented Director , Investments where you'll lead a talented team, drive innovative investments, and play a pivotal role in maximizing returns while navigating the dynamic financial landscape. WHAT WILL YOU DO? Provide expert guidance and recommendations on prospective investments, leveraging financial insights to support the selection of self-storage acquisitions. Advise on the creation of asset budgets and financial forecasts, while identifying growth opportunities, market trends, and potential risks. Assess key risks in proposed investments and integrate mitigant strategies into asset plans. Track financial performance and KPIs against budgets, offering in-depth analysis to internal stakeholders. Provide recommendations to optimize asset performance through regular reviews. Coordinate the due diligence process and investment onboarding with internal and external stakeholders. Lead and guide the investment underwriting process, fostering continual improvement in analysis. Offer training and support to Associates and direct reports, ensuring effective performance and professional development. Regularly communicate with stakeholders, investors, and senior management, preparing reports and presentations on asset performance, strategic initiatives, and financial outcomes. WHAT WILL YOU NEED? A University Degree with a concentration in finance or accounting. Holding or working towards CFA, CAIA, or equivalent professional delegation would be an asset. 7+ years of experience with a real estate company, investment bank, private equity, brokerage, or lender firm. Superior background in analytics, math, and problem solving. Ability to manage time effectively to handle competing demands and meet tight deadlines. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools as well as excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Willing to travel within Canada or the US as required.
