Executive Summary:
Tabor Home Society is searching for a collaborative, servant leader with a clinical background to join their team as Director of Care (DOC). The DOC organizes and oversees all nursing operations of the facility, ensuring all personnel can provide quality care for residents. You will participate in the development and evaluation of resident care programs and monitor quality improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities:
Resident Clinical Care
Ensure ongoing development of comprehensive care plans tailored to each resident’s requirements.
Investigate and report on risk management issues.
Leadership
Provide leadership and direction to staff in continuing care.
Be available to nursing staff for consultation and guidance.
Coordinate with other departments to monitor goals and changes.
Ensure nursing staff receive orientation, training, and performance evaluations.
Be involved in recruitment, discipline, and performance management of clinical staff.
Network with other care directors and health care professionals.
Participate in committees to develop and implement best practices.
Occupancy
Liaise with health authorities for timely admissions.
Work with the Director of Finance to assess care requirements.
Facilitate transfers of residents to licensed care beds.
Regulatory Compliance
Audit and monitor medication administration and care plans.
Lead clinical investigations.
Reconcile long-term care activity reports.
Ensure Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives are undertaken.
Resolve serious incidents with outside agencies.
Provide reports as required by licensing authorities.
Monitor nursing standards and staffing levels.
Ensure compliance with provincial and legal requirements.
Operational, Budgetary & Administrative Responsibilities
Participate in decision-making related to health, resident care, and finances.
Work with the Executive Director to provide clinical care information to the board.
Forecast clinical budgets with the Director of Finance.
Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
Degree in nursing; master’s degree in nursing or healthcare administration preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Valid nursing and CPR certification.
Values in harmony with Tabor Home values.
