Staff Physician, Elizabeth Bagshaw Clinic Who we are The Elizabeth Bagshaw Clinic (EBC) is a non-profit, community-based health clinic. Since 1990, the EBC has provided reproductive and abortion care in a safe, non-judgmental, confidential, and respectful atmosphere. The clinic is committed to providing a high quality of care that is patient centered, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed. The EBC team is interprofessional; physicians, clerical staff, nursing, leadership, and other support team members. We are a UBC clinical teaching site, training physicians and nurses in the provision of abortion care. EBC provides reproductive and abortion care to women, trans, and non-binary people in Vancouver area and beyond. EBC is contracted by the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority (VCHA) and accredited by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC), and the National Abortion Federation (NAF). What you’ll do Reporting to the EBC Executive Director and Medical Director, you will provide abortion care and reproductive health services at the Elizabeth Bagshaw Clinic. What you bring Skills & Abilities: You have strong problem-solving skills, are results and solutions oriented, and are skilled at interpersonal communication. You lead by example by providing support and developing strong working relationships through interprofessional collaboration. You are knowledgeable in current evidence related to abortion services. Clinical Practice: You are committed to your clinical practice and strive to provide the highest level of care possible to women, trans, and non-binary individuals. The staff physician will be assigned a dedicated ½ day shift, but also could be asked to help cover other vacancies that might be created by vacation, illness, etc. You will remain an active member of the on-call roster for the EBC. This position is suited to those with demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development. Qualifications: Candidates will hold a Medical Degree and have a strong background in family planning and experience in the provision of abortion services. Candidates should have FRCSC or equivalent certification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or licensure with the CFPC with additional training in abortion care. Ideally, the physician will be available to start regular work in the clinic as of September 2024, but we will support alternate timing for the right candidate.
