Home Instruction Teacher - South River Area

The Near North District School Board invites applications for a Home Instruction Teacher commencing immediately. Position : Home Instruction Teacher Despite the title, this position does not occur in home settings but rather in public spaces such as libraries, the YMCA, or schools. Location and Schedule: South River area Approximately 5 hours/week. Both in-person and virtual opportunities available. Hours can be during the day, as well as after-school hours, depending on the teacher's preference and the student's needs. All regions in the board. Required Teaching Qualifications: A valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate A valid Certification of Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers Primary and Junior and/or Intermediate and Senior Qualifications Special Education Specialist and/or Special Education part 1 or 2 are considered assets Position Criteria: Knowledge of Ministry Curriculum and Assessment documents Program planning and delivery will include functional literacy and numeracy skills, communication, social skill development and daily living skills.
