Electrical Engineer- Buildings (intermediate)

Our projects vary in size and type and include both new and existing facilities. You will apply your technical knowledge of electrical power distribution, fire alarm/voice communication, emergency power supply, EV charging, and lighting system design expertise across the commercial, institutional, residential, and industrial sectors. What you can expect to do here: Assist with design of leading-edge engineering solutions for the various electrical and electronic building systems. Develop technical specifications. Preparing AutoCAD drawings and Revit 3D modeling for all electrical building systems. Apply your knowledge of Electrical Engineering requirements, Ontario Building Code (OBC), Electrical Safety Authority, and IEEE standards for Building and Site design. Perform site investigations to determine project background information, as well as site reviews of building construction projects to determine compliance with project documents and OBC general review requirements. Collaborate with different stakeholder groups to develop and articulate the merits of the selected solutions for the various electrical systems. What you’ll bring to WSP: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Licensed with PEO; 4-7 years of design experience; Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit; Exemplary interpersonal skills with team members and other disciplines; Willingness to bring forth ideas and learn in a collaborative and supportive environment; Familiarity with software used for engineering studies - arc flash, load, fault and coordination studies, lighting, grounding, etc. is an asset; Your own transportation with the ability to travel to project sites as required; Reliability clearance.
