JOB OPPORTUNITY SEASONAL PILOTS (SUPPORT – Shadow) (PA-60 Piper Aerostar and/or Cessna 208 Caravan.) Company Name: Forest Protection Limited Address: 2502 Route 102 Highway, Fredericton (Lincoln), New Brunswick Term: Seasonal ( April 2025-September 2025 ) Employment Type: Full Time We are inviting applications for seasonal Pilots (Shadow) in Fredericton New Brunswick for the 2025 season running from approximately 7th April 2025 to 15th September 2025. Reporting to the Chief Pilot, pilots will operate during the wildfire season and fulfill the following tasks: Responsible for carrying loading crews and equipment to reload bases around New Brunswick and assisting with various loading duties as needed. Operate assigned aircraft in accordance with FPL’s Company Operations Manual and Standard Operating Procedures Perform all key job duties and any other assigned by the Flight Operations Management team from time to time Adhere to instructions issued by officers of the Department of Natural Resources on fire suppression or instructions from the base manager when assigned to aerial application projects. Complete required pre-flight and post-flight paperwork in a timely and thorough manner Report all items requiring maintenance on the aircraft as soon as possible Responsible for the cleanliness of the aircraft at all times Successful candidates will be expected to work in a team environment during long hours of standby throughout the forest fire season. Assigned pilots can expect to fly between 70 and 130 hours per season depending on the Fire Weather Index levels and any unforeseen circumstances. Re-positioning to other bases of operation may be required throughout the season, including short term fire suppression support to other Canadian provinces. Ideal candidates will be elite multitaskers who understand fire behavior and suppression tactics, demonstrate a high level of effective communication, discipline, sound decision-making skills, a willingness to learn, and work in a team. QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate must: Possess a Commercial Pilot License - Fixed wing and; Have obtained at least 1000 hours of total time and 100hrs multi-engine PIC. Have a valid IFR Experience in a Piper Aerostar, Cessna Caravan, or aircraft equipped with a Garmin G1000NXI is an asset. Preference will be given to candidates having experience with turbine engines and low altitude operations like aerial application or fire suppression. OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Conditions of employment are as below: Legally entitled to work in Canada and are required to obtain a Criminal Record Check. Have a valid driver's license for travel within and outside the province.
