Opportunity: Join Decisive Dividend Corporation as a Divisional Controller and play a vital role in shaping the financial success of our Okanagan-based wear part subsidiaries: Unicast Inc., Micon Industries Ltd., and Procore International Radiators Ltd. This is not just a job; it’s a chance to lead financial operations, drive strategic decision-making, and make a meaningful impact within a dynamic organization. You’ll be based in our Unicast office in Kelowna, with travel to our Micon and Procore locations in Merritt.
What We Are Looking For:
Experienced Leader: You have 7-10 years in accounting and financial management experience (Controller/Assistant Controller), with a proven track record of leading teams to success, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
Strategic Thinker: You can analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights to drive better decision-making.
Team Player: You thrive in a collaborative environment and can build strong relationships with leadership teams and stakeholders.
Detail-Oriented: You have a keen eye for accuracy and compliance, ensuring all financial operations meet legal and regulatory standards.
Tech-Savvy: You possess a comprehensive understanding of ERP systems and can optimize their use to enhance financial reporting and operations. You are an excel wizard!
Growth-Minded: You’re passionate about mentoring and developing talent within your team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting; professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting operations, including cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial/statutory reporting.
Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual operating results against budget.
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
Provide strategic analysis to drive improved decision-making.
Collaborate with leadership teams to support planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
Assist in developing and implementing strategic business and operational plans, projects, and systems.
Enhance cash positions through timely collection of receivables.
Manage and optimize the ERP system, assisting staff with any issues encountered.
Establish and monitor internal controls in accordance with legal, regulatory, and company policies.
Liaise with the Canada Revenue Agency and provincial/state equivalents for reporting and remittances.
Guide accounting personnel on financial systems, record-keeping, analysis, and reporting.
Hire, train, and coach accounting personnel to foster growth, skill development, and accountability.
Coordinate year-end audit activities and manage financial reporting to third parties.
Authorize payments and oversee the assignment of cheques, purchase orders, and invoices.
Perform other related duties as required.
