Are you a talented content marketer with a knack for creating valuable and compelling content for a marketing audience? Are you experienced in utilizing partnership marketing for content distribution through events, podcasts, newsletters, social etc? And are you a Pi shaped marketer who is looking to take the next step in your career in marketing? You’ve come to the right place. RightMetric is a strategic insights partner that combines audience, competitor, and content research to inform mission-critical elements of marketing strategy. You’ll be joining our company at a key moment. We’re growing and we need your help to: Build on our brand and the marketing foundation we’ve established so far. Target our ideal customer profile (ICP) and position us to help them with their toughest marketing strategy questions. Engage our ICP more consistently through relevant, insight-powered, content and partnerships. And ultimately generate sales-ready opportunities that become clients. We’re looking for a marketing generalist with an entrepreneurial spirit who has experience building and executing the marketing function at a professional services (i.e. agencies, consultancies, research) or Saas firm. The mission of this role is end-to-end ownership of the marketing function at RightMetric. We’ve invested a lot in marketing so far, but this role is our first full-time marketing hire, so it will be a mix of creating new strategies, while doing the tactical execution. And you’ll be supported by a team of experienced professionals and capable vendors who will be a part of your extended team. We’re a tight-knit group and everyone counts. We’re looking for the right person, with the right skills, experience, and attitude to join our team! Responsibilities Please note: As you can see from our (i.e. our website, social media, newsletter), we have built up a lot within marketing so you’ll be starting from a strong foundation. The list below may seem extensive but we have a clear idea on what our priorities are to focus our marketing efforts. And it’s ultimately up to you to own the marketing function and drive the day-to-day to generate results. That’s what makes this role so special! Foundation ICP & Persona Definition: Continually refine these beyond the current baseline. Positioning & Messaging: Refine our positioning and messaging to resonate with our ICP. Brand: Steward our brand by evolving and implementing our brand voice and visual guidelines. Messaging, Design, and Content Content Creation: Collaborate with our Research team, Growth Team, and external contractors to create the content that will fuel our marketing machine: Own our content strategy and content calendar. Create our sales enablement content: reports, thought leadership, case studies etc. Hone our company and product information. Adhere to SEO best practices to generate qualified traffic and leads. Partner Marketing: Create and own the partner marketing plan to help us leverage the marketing of partners with complimentary messages: Research, identify, and vet potential partners that align with our ICP. Reach out and start relationships. Manage and execute partnered content. Events: Create and own our event plan that includes speaking, attending, and sponsoring key events. Channels, Tools, and Analytics Website: With support from our web design & development vendor, update the website to ensure it is: An effective content hub that builds trust and authority with our ICP. An effective lead capture mechanism, when prospects are ready to reach out. A strong representation of our brand’s positioning and visual identity. A traffic generator, by leveraging website content to rank in search, social, and AI channels. Social: In partnership with our social content agency and other Growth team members, create content and post regularly on our LinkedIn account. Email: We have our bi-weekly newsletter. Update and guide the newsletter to build on our results to date. Analytics: Maintain our marketing dashboard, derive insights, surface them to the team, and action them to improve our strategy. Tools: Own and leverage our marketing and tools. Team: Find, hire, train, and coach contractors, vendors, and team members as the marketing function grows. Day-to-Day Work On Your Own Schedule: We don’t track your hours or location. We have clearly shared expectations about the work that needs to be done and delivered, but other than that you’re free to work when you want and where you want. This can look different depending on your preferences. Like to start work super early in the morning and have afternoons off? All good. Hate getting up early and would rather start later and work in the afternoon/evening? No problem. Take breaks whenever you want. You never need to ask anyone to pause work for a doctor’s appointment or haircut, just do it. Want to work remotely from Mexico for a month? Give’r. You get the idea! Weekly Team Huddle: The whole team typically meets weekly to provide a status update, talk company vision, and break through blockers. You’ll own this meeting. 1:1s: This role reports to, and will closely collaborate with the VP Growth. Expect weekly 1:1s, or possibly more frequent when starting out. Collaborate with the team: Naturally, a good deal of banter, gifs, and memes shared via Basecamp while working (If you’re not familiar with it, Basecamp is like a simplified, non-intrusive combo of Slack and Asana). We chat throughout the day as we work together to complete projects. As Marketing Lead, you’ll collaborate closely with the Growth Team to create sales enablement materials and get feedback on lead quality. You’ll also collaborate closely with the Research team when creating research-based marketing content. Collaborate with vendors: Starting out as the Marketing Lead, you’ll need to rely on vendors and contractors to support you across various channels. 100% Remote: There are both pros and cons to remote work. We get lots of time for deep focus, no commutes, and get to work with amazing co-workers around the world. We do acknowledge that it can be tough to feel socially connected with your team while working remotely though, and mental health is a top priority. Please never hesitate to connect with your coworkers - for collaboration or simply to catch up and spend time together. We also recommend getting some real-world work socialization by working at coworking spaces, coffee shops, libraries etc. Everyone is different :) We try to only use a few tools, calm ones: We use Basecamp for (almost) all team communication, task tracking, and project management; and GSuite for Drive, Docs, Slides, and Sheets. Base Salary: A competitive salary (range of 85k-110k CAD) based on experience. Performance Bonus: An annual performance bonus calculated at 5% of annual base salary at the discretion of the company. Vacation: 5 Weeks Paid Vacation, which includes 2 weeks of mandatory paid time off during the holiday break at the end of December each year. Additional paid & unpaid vacation beyond 5 weeks is considered on request. We want everyone to be well rested and we avoid burnout. Full Benefits: 100% Coverage of Dental, Vision, Drugs, Massage, Physio, Acupuncture, Naturopath, Life, Loss of Income etc. Unlimited Sick Days Educational stipends: Considered on request. Flexible Working Hours: We have a shared expectation that KPIs are met, team members participate in our culture, and everyone attends a few key meetings. Beyond that, work when you want. Fully Remote Team: We work remote and always will. We do have a back-up office available in downtown Vancouver for local team members who need it. Computer Equipment: Will be supplied.
