Kaycan has an exciting career opportunity for a Production Manager with extensive extrusion experience based in Brampton to join our team. This is a great chance to join a Top Employer and contribute to our growth and success.Reporting to the plant manager the Production Manager, will be involved in the planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes. You will make sure that goods, services are produced efficiently, and that the correct amount is produced at the right cost and level of quality. Also in this role, you will oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations and by leading our production team to meet goals in a safe and efficient manner.Key Responsibilities:Learn, adjust, calibrate, and test equipment tooling to ensure proper pressure, speed, temperature and general operationWork with team members, shift supervisors and all necessary personnel to take care of complications as they arise.Involved in the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage.Ensure that the production will be cost effective by estimating costs and negotiating and agreeing budgets with both clients and managers.Supervise production team to manage and execute production projects.Work with the team to plan, schedule and perform production activities.Assign daily workload to team members.Develop production program and guidelines to support company objectives.Schedule equipment maintenance and inspection on regular basis.Suggest process improvements to enhance production quality and capacity.Organize job training to team members to achieve production goals.Investigate production issues and develop resolutions.Determine equipment, material and manpower requirements for project execution.Recommend cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards.Assist in employee recruitment, performance evaluation, promotion, retention and termination activities.Monitor production activities and adjust schedules for on-time delivery.Ensure that final product meets quality standards and customer specifications.Ensure that team follows company policies and safety standards.Exposure to a noisy environmentOvertime as requiredRequired QualificationsQualifications:3+ years of experience as a Production ManagerExperience in plastic extrusion related field is a mustBachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field would be considered a strong assetOrganization and attention to detail are necessary for this roleProblem-solving abilities and conflict managementLeadership abilities, managing employeesCore Skills:Planning and organization skills to able to run and monitor production processThe ability to act decisively and solve staff or equipment related problemsThe capacity to grasp complex concepts easilyAttention to detail to ensure high levels of qualityThe ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with your team, managers, and clientsStrong negotiation skills for getting materials within budget at the right timeLeadership skills and the ability to motivate others to meet deadlinesA results-driven approach to workThe ability to work in a logical, systematic mannerCompany SummaryHere’s what we do…Kaycan is a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, one of the top 100 industrial companies in the world.
