System Z Solution Architect

The IBM Technology Expert Labs organization is looking for an IBM Mainframe Solution Architect with expertise in IBM z/OS and Linux on z technology and products. The Solution Architect will collaborate with the client, business partner, and sellers to understand client requirements and conduct discovery activities to define and create services solutions to address client needs. You will utilize your in-depth knowledge of leading-edge products and technology in conjunction with industry and business skills to influence clients. You are responsible for building a scope with activities and corresponding assumptions and estimating the level of effort. The Solution Architect creates the client-facing proposal content and the detailed work breakdown structure. You will work in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects with multiple sellers and clients. Your Role and Responsibilities 5-10 years of experience with: z/OS, z security, RACF, z networking Linux on z: RHEL, RedHat OpenShift, Ansible, z/VM Middleware: Db2, IMS, CICS, MQ, WAS z Application and Platform Software tools Experience architecting plans for IBM z/OS version upgrades for existing and new IBM Z hardware implementation services, including product migration services for both IBM and third-party ISV software related products Demonstrated communication skills in a customer-facing environment at all levels of technical, management and executives Understand technical requirements to craft work scopes, work breakdown structures, labor estimates, and manage risk Required Technical and Professional Expertise Direct experience in the following products and technologies: watsonx.ai, watsonx.data, watsonx.governance, Watson Assistant, Watson Discovery, LLM, AI; products from the Data Fabric portfolio Proficient with capacity planning, scalability, performance, and load testing concepts Strong knowledge of integration and commonly used patterns, able to apply such knowledge in solution design Experience or strong knowledge of SaaS, Hybrid Cloud, Linux/Unix/Windows Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise NA Location Statement Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship. This role will involve working with technology that is covered by Export Regulations sanctions.
