We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Applied AI team to help us build generative AI-powered features. The Applied AI team’s goal is to enhance the speed, creativity, and quality when building and designing websites through the power of AI, in pursuit of our mission to bring development superpowers to everyone around the world. This role will collaborate directly with product and ML engineers, product managers, and designers to identify and implement AI solutions that improve the Webflow user experience, while cultivating an environment of excellence, care, and curiosity. About the role Location: Remote-first (United States; BC & ON, Canada) Full-time Exempt The cash compensation for this role is tailored to align with the cost of labor in different geographic markets. We've structured the base pay ranges for this role into zones for our geographic markets, and the specific base pay within the range will be determined by the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, qualifications, and skills. United States (all figures cited below in USD and pertain to workers in the United States) Zone A: $158,000 - $218,000 Zone B: $149,000 - $205,000 Zone C: $139,000 - $192,000 Canada (All figures cited below in CAD and pertain to workers in ON & BC, Canada) CAD 180,000 - CAD 248,000 Please visit our Careers page for more information on which locations are included in each of our geographic pay zones. Reporting to a Senior Engineering Manager As a Senior Software Engineer, AI Products, you’ll… Stay up-to-date on AI/ML ecosystem advancements to assess their relevance to Webflow’s product strategy. Develop and integrate third-party AI APIs into the product's architecture. Be comfortable with making decisions with incomplete information and adjusting priorities as new insights emerge. Work closely with the product and design teams, owning and iterating on the solution together. Improve developer processes for building LLM-powered applications, helping to establish best practices in prompt engineering, experimentation, and quality assessments. Develop a deep understanding of our architecture and codebase while also learning about our product and the customers that use it. Work in an environment that fosters creativity, learning, and growth. Build and maintain tests and evaluation and monitoring of generative AI outputs. About you You’ll thrive as a Senior Software Engineer, AI Products if you… Have 5+ years of experience in full-stack, product-focused software engineering, with a proven track record of shipping impactful products to market. Bring 1+ years of hands-on experience building products that leverage AI/ML technologies to solve real-world problems. Are highly proficient in JavaScript and/or TypeScript. Have an intuition of AI/ML concepts and technologies, such as large language models, vector databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and prompt engineering. Have experience measuring and improving the quality of large language model outputs through the use of techniques like prompt engineering and fine-tuning. Have strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug production issues across multiple layers of the stack efficiently and effectively. Demonstrate exceptional organizational and communication skills, capable of breaking down complex technical ideas for both engineering and non-engineering audiences. Are passionate about delivering business value through fast iteration, with a bias toward shipping early and often.
