About the workplace This is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. Periodically, you’ll be required to attend in-person activities or events. Senior Financial Systems Analyst Responsibilities: Finance Systems Collaborate with the IT Solutions team to ensure general system maintenance is performed, software licenses are maintained in good standing, and software versions are kept up to date. Provide recommendations for changes or opportunities to optimize systems. Collaborate with project teams and IT Solutions on upgrading and/or implementing finance systems and integrations between systems. Perform year-end ancillary system close and roll forward. Administer systems by managing user provisioning, completing user access reviews, and managing the creation of new accounts. Monitor system performance metrics such as availability and processing accuracy and provide regular updates to management. Escalate system issues to IT Solutions and collaborate to ensure timely resolution and communicate to stakeholders to minimize impact. Data and Process Consistency Support finance teams by creating standardized templates using best practices for documentation and error prevention to drive accuracy and consistency in processes. Upload month-end ancillary system data, annual budgets, and quarterly forecasts into the accounting system and perform procedures to verify accuracy. Perform ad hoc investigations and analysis on data originating in ancillary systems using SQL queries and other data extraction and analysis techniques. Support the annual financial statement audit by gathering, analyzing, and providing data requested by the auditors. You have: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Accounting, or Business Administration from a recognized post-secondary institution (or equivalent). Minimum 5 years of experience at a senior consultant level or higher, would be an asset. Experience with system migrations, integrations, and upgrades is highly desirable. Proven experience in implementing, configuring, and maintaining financial systems. Advanced degree like MBA, master’s in information technology is a plus. Expertise in reporting tools, data extraction and analysis techniques (e.g. SQL, Power BI queries). Knowledge related to accounting concepts, practices, and techniques. Business acumen in the context of the financial industry, would be an asset. Problem-solving and decision-making skills to diagnose and resolve issues. Research and analytical skills to assess and interpret data and provide accurate and concise explanations. Communication and interpersonal skills to create clear understanding of expectations and address challenges. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Critical thinker – You understand the big picture objective and can dive deep into data and details to ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables are met. The salary range for the role is $71,500 to $107,300 and a candidate’s offer is likely to be up to the mid-point of the role ($89,400) . The upper half of the salary range is typically reserved for individuals who have demonstrated consistent strong performance in the role and possess a high level of job knowledge and skill.
