Job Requirements / Description
Covenant House Vancouver acknowledges with gratitude that their work takes place on the traditional lands of the x?m??k??y??m (Musqueam), S?wx_wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel?íl?witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. With over 27 years of experience providing unconditional love and absolute respect to youth experiencing homelessness, Covenant House Vancouver ("CHV") makes a positive difference for at-risk youth across Western Canada. The organization helps homeless, at-risk, and trafficked young people aged 16 to 24. CHV offers a continuum of services using evidence-informed theories and practices that ensure they care for the entire person — mind, body, and spirit. Services range from outreach and drop-in to housing and support services that enable youth to transition into independence successfully. In recent years, CHV has grown significantly, expanding their team and programs in significant ways to reach more youth in need. Keeping pace with this growth, the role of COO has been established to help provide for additional capacity and to support a highly dedicated and busy operational expertise in their leadership team. Reporting to the CEO, the COO will be responsible for leading finance, philanthropy, facilities, and communications. Key among success factors will be strong forward-looking financial analysis, diversification of revenue streams and partners, enhanced safety culture, and continuous process improvement. Essential in this leader will be an authentically relational and nurturing leadership style characterized by psychological safety and trust. In short, the COO is a key leader who will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence. This includes leading the implementation of strategy and driving innovation and efficiency in corporate operations. The COO will ensure Board and CEO-approved objectives are achieved in a way that is human-centric and culturally safe. Job Requirements As the ideal candidate, you bring a track record of success as a senior organizational leader, culture-maker, and team builder. Your functional expertise in finance and/or larger corporate services will likely have been gained in a growth-oriented organization in the non-profit, community, and/or health and social services field, but certainly it will have been gained in the service and development of others. As the ideal candidate, you bring top-notch leadership skills and an ability to interact and build productive relationships with a range of stakeholders. This is a gem of an opportunity to have a complex and high-impact role in one of the most entrepreneurial not-for-profits in Canada, and in an organization that makes a real difference in the lives of youth experiencing homelessness. How to Apply To explore this opportunity further, please click Apply. In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the position has an expected base salary range of $200,000 - $230,000. We thank all applicants for their interest in this position. Please note that we will only be in contact with those individuals moving forward with our client. A significant and sustained effort will be made to encourage candidates from equity-deserving groups and with lived experience of marginalization and oppression (including Black, Indigenous and People of Colour, LGBTQIA2S+ and persons with disabilities) to apply. Applicants will not be discriminated against because of race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, religion, national origin, citizenship status, disability, ancestry, marital status, veteran status, medical condition, or any other protected category. #J-18808-Ljbffr
