Applied Process Technology Engineer Where will you work: Mosaic Potash Esterhazy is an underground potash mine located 90 kilometers south of Yorkton. It’s split between three mine sites - K1, K2 and K3 which will be the largest, and one of the world’s most competitive underground potash mines in the world. Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates. Term: January 13 - August 22, 2025 Full time Co-Op/Internship. 36-40 hours a week on site. In this role, you will support APT’s innovation portfolio across the global business. This includes research support in new product development, new technology landscaping and chemical processing. You will support all work phases, from feasibility and laboratory development through to full scale industrial implementation. You will have the opportunity to work with all sites, both potash and phosphates, to address key strategic priorities. You will actively promote the synthesis of science and engineering to seize opportunities in timely, cost effective, and innovative ways. What you’ll do: Complete engineering projects and improvement activities involving multiple sites and processes, including development of entirely new processes. Continuously search for novel technologies that could provide a step change improvement to aspects of mining, mineral processing, and product development. Lead APT activities in both laboratory and full-scale operations. Drive best practices in scientific experimentation to produce trusted results. Actively engage with operations, engineering, and functional groups to share learnings and build collaborative networks. Hold personal and public safety as paramount and ensure environmental responsibility for all activities and improvements. Practice expert change management. Promote innovation with internal and external audiences, representing Mosaic and APT with a high degree of integrity. Expand knowledge of Mosaic mining processes across varying product lines and geographies to enable strategic thinking and creative problem solving. What you’ll need: Second year or higher pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical and or Process Engineering or other applicable disciplines. General understanding of engineering concepts and a desire to learn. 72% Percentage or higher. Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment. 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred. Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office. Basic computer skills are required. Experience working in a team environment is a must. Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable. Effective verbal communication skills is a plus. Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments. Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete the following: Post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
