Description ActiveState is securing open-source software supply chains and enhancing dependency management with an on-demand SaaS Platform and CLI tool that lets DevSecOps automatically build any runtime environment using any open-source language ecosystem on any platform. We’re building an ambitious language distribution platform so that no engineer ever has to suffer dependency hell again, and we need your help!With the growth of Python for data science/ML and development, and growing concerns with application security, ActiveState is looking for an energetic and hungry Solutions Architect to help grow our business. Reporting to the VP of Customer Success, the Solutions Architect will drive and actively support the technical parts of the sales process and post-sales process for the ActiveState Platform. You have a strong knowledge of SaaS/software sales and high technical aptitude with a track record of helping win business in IT, Dev/Engineering groups.You understand complex selling and organizational structures in large enterprises within North America and/or Europe. You have experience presenting to and working with individuals from IT admins and software developers up to C-level decision-makers and can communicate effectively with both. You are a self-motivated, hard worker and a strong communicator and collaborator.Key Responsibilities Own technical discovery, create detailed ActiveState client projects and documentation from inception to production support and SOW’sScope the technical solution required to address customer requirements, recommend solutions that optimize value for both the customer and ActiveState, ensuring deliverables are metReview technical details of customer requirements, including details of open-source libraries/packages in order to prepare customization estimates. Be able to recommend alternative solutions and collaborate with customers after understanding their development use cases and challenges.Ability to provide technical expertise and consulting advice during all stages of customer engagement, gaining customers’ trust while becoming their trusted advisor.Manage the process of guided trials of the ActiveState Platform to ensure a successful experience Mentor and provide guidance regarding ‘Best Practices,’ communication, and implementation strategies including collateral in the form of documentation, delivery kits, and training materialsStay up to date on new features, and fixes within the Quarterly ActiveState product releases and disseminate key information to the professional services team.Collaborate with product management, engineering, support, and marketing, providing feedback from the field to internal stakeholders to align solutions to market requirementsKeep current with the latest technology trends related to the Application Security landscape and DevOps trendsWork with other teams to support customers post-sales as requiredShare technical product knowledge with the sales team Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Strong understanding of software security terminology, ecosystems, roles, and responsibilities. University degree or college diploma in computer science or related field5-8+ years of relevant customer-facing experience with software development solutions in a business-to-business (B2B) environment (in a sales, support, or services/consulting role)Experience with application security, specifically code vulnerability assessment solutions and software supply chain security methodologies.Experience with a variety of programming languages (Python, Perl, Ruby, Javascript, Go, Java) is a must Experience in analyzing, understanding, and resolving open-source vulnerabilities and risks in enterprise-scale organizations.Background in machine learning and data science is an asset Experience with Linux, Windows, Docker, and cloud infrastructures (such as AWS) an assetExperience with software architecture design and product development is a plus.Experience with Continuous Integration tools: CI Server, Git, Artifactory, Jenkins, Maven, Docker, NPM.A natural problem solver with the ability to proactively multi-task and manage multiple opportunities and customersExcellent written, and verbal communication, and presentation skillsEntrepreneurial, strong work ethic, ability to be self-directed but also collaborativeA fun and positive attitude, and a great sense of humor!Benefits ActiveState has a collaborative, respectful, and professional culture.
