About the work environment: Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times. We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto office. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance. About you: You have experience in syndications and/or structured finance transactions. You are able to drive transactions to the finish line, including engagement with both external and internal stakeholders. You strive in a high visibility role. You have the ability to bring together/synthesize several process workstreams including structuring, financial modeling, legal, regulatory, accounting/tax and operational alignment. Your ability to work collaboratively with workstream leads and subject matter experts to arrive at solutions related to tactical execution steps is required. About the qualifications: Professional designation (CPA or CFA) with a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience.  Strong corporate finance or debt capital markets background, keen business sense, with demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environments. Background in debt capital markets, syndication, and securitization preferred as the role will grow the current syndications desk within Treasury to syndicate / offer participations in mortgage (single family and multi-family/commercial) and other loans to small banks, trust and loans companies credit unions and non-bank financial institutions. Proven track record of successfully working with clientele to syndicate assets on both on-balance sheet (‘Back Book’) and new originations (‘Flow business’). Skills in financial modeling, structuring of syndication / securitization, ability to work through external counsel on legal agreements and negotiations with counterparties. Strong business acumen with an ability to understand market and economic trends, analyze a business from a commercial and operational standpoint, perform financial and sensitivity analyst, draw accurate and thoughtful conclusions. Project Management processes and abilities to handle multiple processes flows and a track record to balance multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Strong decision making and critical thinking skills. Excellent ability to influence with a collaborative nature and strong communication skills. Highly motivated self-starter with a sense of urgency. About the day-to-day: Lead all financial modeling, economic, P&L analysis. Liaise with subject matter experts for accounting, operations, treasury, risk and regulatory considerations as part of evaluation process. Initiate, build and maintain strong relationships with external debt and equity capital market consultants, counterparties/clients, and internal project leads to develop and execute transaction strategy. Assist in the structuring and financial modeling, preparation of investor decks and marketing materials for potential investors. Provide critical feedback to counsel on transaction documents to ensure sanctity of structure is captured adequately in legal agreements. Deliver well communicated, balanced, and comprehensive analyses for each stage of deal evaluations and due diligence for the business’s executives and key stakeholders. Participate in a leadership role in integration activities of newly acquired companies or newly developed business segments. Compensation: Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $125,000 and $150,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possess.
