The Island Health Division of Neurology has opportunities for an additional Neurologist to join a group of 5 colleagues. We seek enthusiastic candidates with an interest in developing a subspecialty Neurology Service in one of three areas: Epilepsy, Headache, and Cognitive Neurology. This will complement the current Stroke, MS, Movement Disorders, Neurophysiology, and Neuro-Ophthalmology Services. Candidates will participate in inpatient and outpatient care while finding that a balance of work and life is possible in this dynamic and growing community. Opportunities to provide Medical Education with University affiliation are part of this engaging practice environment. The successful candidate will hold Royal College certification, be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, and demonstrate a commitment to providing community-based stroke care. Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (315 acute care beds) is our regional referral hospital providing services to an immediate population of 125,000 and a secondary referral population of well over 350,000. Hospital-based services include EEG, EMG, a rehabilitation inpatient unit, CT, and MRI.
