Engineer - Digital Power Systems

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Leader in Networks and Telecommunications to join their Digital Power Systems team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in engineering projects based on the IEC 61850 standard, demonstrate leadership abilities, and have proficiency in French. This role involves managing complex projects, developing telecommunications network architecture, and serving as a technical reference within the team.Key Responsibilities:• Lead engineering projects based on the IEC 61850 – Digital Power Systems standard.• Assume various roles, including project leader and proposal leader.• Determine the telecommunications equipment required for power grid automation and protection systems.• Develop telecommunications network architecture for substation projects.• Conduct testing in the company’s digital power systems lab.• Commission digital power systems on site.• Serve as a technical reference for the team.• Expand expertise to include switchgear, protection, automation, and supervision of medium- and high-voltage substations.Qualifications:•• Fluent in French (both written and spoken).• Engineering or Technical degree in Networks and Telecommunications or a related field.• Extensive experience in power grid automation, protection systems, and IEC 61850 standard.• Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex projects.• Proven experience in developing telecommunications network architecture for substations.• Hands-on experience in conducting lab testing and commissioning digital power systems.• Ability to serve as a technical reference and mentor for the team.• Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with clients and partners.• Inspirational leader who fosters respect, trust, and teamwork.• Strong communication skills with the ability to promote skills to peers, directors, project leaders, and external clients.• Results-driven with a constant strive to exceed set objectives.• Ability to motivate others, maintain an engaging work environment, and value everyone’s contributions.
