About the Role:

The Digital Marketing & E-commerce team is on the hunt for a Paid Search Specialist. You’ll be joining an in-house media team that is in a full rebuild as travel is rebounding and growing. The ideal candidate has strong paid search skills, and is a well-rounded digital marketer who understands the role search plays as part of broader digital campaigns.

Please note this role is hybrid, with three days required in our Toronto head office.

What you’ll be doing:

Assist the digital leadership team to develop paid search strategies and tactical plans to deliver campaign objectives.

Build and execute campaigns across all paid search platforms.

Analyze and identify opportunities to optimize campaign performance.

Maximize search performance while working within efficiency requirements.

Develop dashboards and presentations to provide ongoing reporting & insights to both internal and external stakeholders.

Review and manage budgets and spend pacing of all paid search accounts throughout the year.

Collaborate and establish strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders:

Web, SEO, and content teams to improve landing page performance from paid search campaigns.

Finance and Legal teams (as needed) on budgets, pacing, and invoicing.

Regional teams and leads on promotions, time-sensitive activations, co-operative incremental campaigns, and other tasks.

Platform partners on trends, insights, and competitive benchmarking.

Vendors and agency partners on performance, new betas for test & learns, and other tasks.

Identify market trends, opportunities for keyword and campaign expansion.

Stay up to date with new paid search developments including new formats, industry news, and beta tests.

Represent Paid Search team with internal and external stakeholders to provide clarity, education, and insights on new innovations within the channel.

Effectively utilize third-party paid search optimization tools (we use Optmyzr, call tracking, and other attribution tools).

Desired Skills & Experience:

Must Have:

College or university degree in business, marketing, travel and tourism/hospitality or a related field.

2+ years of experience in paid search on either the client, platform, or agency side.

Proven track record of improving search campaign performance and ROI results.

Solid hands-on experience and certification on Google Ads, Bing Ads, Google Ads Editor and Google Analytics platforms.

Understanding of audience segmentation, targeting, creating custom audiences, remarketing.

Experience compiling factual and accurate performance data from paid search campaigns.

Understanding of automated bidding strategies and efficiencies (e.g. tCPA, tROAS, etc.).

Experience with various ad formats, ad extensions and campaigns types.

Attention to detail, strong task/project management skills.

Self-starter, takes initiative and can manage their own tasks & priorities.

Nice to Have:

Familiarity with other Google Marketing Platform tools (SA360, Google Tag Manager, CM360, DV360).

Experience with project management tools (we use ClickUp and Jira).

Experience with data visualization tools (we use Looker and other tools).

Experience presenting paid search insights.

Understanding or experience working with data and/or product feeds.

Interest and understanding of the impact of search to the bottom line (full funnel attribution) as it relates to a full-funnel buyflow process and the value of paid search within the customer journey.

Interest in the travel industry and travel in general.

Possess a test and learn, solution oriented mindset.

Understanding of the relationship between Paid Search and Organic (SEO)

Appreciates spirited discussion and sharing of your input in collaborative brainstorming (discussions on campaign performance, strategy discussions, lunch options, etc.).

Interest in educating and advocating for paid search goals, distilling complex or technical concepts to drive channel value and tangible/relevant insights for both internal and external stakeholders (e.g. for regional teams, executive leadership, platform partners, agency partners, and other teams).
