Scope of the Position
The Battery Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for process development of various operations ( mixing, coating, calendaring ) for lithium ion battery manufacturing. This role is crucial to the scaling up of our production capabilities and improving the overall performance and reliability of our products.
Responsibilities
- Design and conduct experiments to evaluate the performance of electrode materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrode designs into the manufacturing process.
- Scale up laboratory-scale processes to pilot and full-scale production.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to battery manufacturing.
- Document and report findings, maintaining comprehensive records of experiments and results.
- Understand and support cell design activities.
- Effectively communicate project status and proactively manage risk.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Technical Background in EV battery cell development
Hands-on experience in lithium ion battery cell manufacturing
- Strong understanding of electrochemical principles and materials science
Background in battery cell design & process
- Demonstrated problem solving ability
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and suppliers
- Ability to understand customer needs and translate into product requirements
- Able to work independently and demonstrates inherent desire to learn and improve
