J.Roots Educational Coordinator Job Type: Full time contract position August 2024 – June 2025 (40 hours per week) Location: Schwartz/Reisman Centre 9600 Bathurst Street, Vaughan, ON Salary range: $50,000.00 - $60, 00.00 J. Roots is a JCC Supplementary Hebrew School that focuses on fostering Jewish identity in children ages 3-13 through the development of Hebrew language skills, understanding and appreciating Jewish holidays, and inspiring a connection to the JCC, the local Jewish community and Israel. The Ideal J. Roots Education Coordinator: At your core, you're a passionate educator with a degree or diploma in Education, and a positive track record specializing in early childhood and elementary school age education. You are also an organized, efficient, tech-savvy, strong administrator with an exceptional eye for detail and ability to multi-task and problem solve. Jewish culture, traditions, and a connection to Israel are evident in your enthusiastic and friendly interactions. Your English language skills are superior, verbal and written, and if you speak Hebrew and/or Russian it’s an asset. Moreover, you have a friendly and outgoing nature, work collaboratively and are team oriented. About the JCC At the JCC, you are part of something bigger. You matter. Key Responsibilities Revise and update learning goals and curriculum planning from preschool to B’nai Mitzvah. Revise and update JRoots educational materials for all grades. Oversee and coordinate educational inventory to include textbooks, booklets, class visuals, musical files, educational games and their effective distribution to each classroom. Provide general coordination of related to educational material filing, photocopying, distributing material to teachers. Ensure effective weekly guidance and monitoring of curriculum planning and implementation by JRoots part -time staff. Complete contracts for all educators, assistants, and volunteers. Recruit educators for positions and complete onboarding process. Oversee JRoots part-time payroll system. Continually inspire and motivate teaching team towards implementation of performance goals. Develop and implement high standards to the teaching team. Plan and lead staff orientations throughout the year, mentor part-time staff and lead professional development. Distribute weekly communication to educators. Coordinate supply teachers for each Sunday and mid-week classes and provide faculty support with troubleshooting. Organize and coordinate evaluation process of JRoots faculty members. Assist with parent communication.  Review student report cards. Collaborate and support staff on holiday celebrations.
