The Operations Manager will play a key role in projects/continuous improvement initiatives that aid the success of the program. As an ambassador of the program, you will promote and contribute to the customer focused and collaborative work environment.
Shift/hours - 5 days a week – Monday to Friday, could include later hours or weekends
Travel requirements - occasional travel, first month might travel a few days per week for training
Duties:
- Oversees all operations, ensuring effective management of labor, productivity, quality control, and safety measures as prescribed.
- Responsible for achieving operational cost targets and identifying opportunities for cost reduction or process improvement without compromising donor experience.
- Evaluates, plans, and ensures the allocation of trained, competent staff and adequate supplies/equipment for planned collection events.
- Manages the team effectively, including recruitment, coaching, attendance management, and disciplinary processes in accordance with the organization’s policies, local collective agreements, provincial legislation, and management principles.
- Collaborates with the business development manager to implement and support an exceptional donor experience program, enhancing donor recruitment, retention, and attendance frequency.
- Promotes continuous improvement and best practice standards, adhering to the organization’s quality management system standards and practices.
- Encourages collaboration and teamwork to facilitate open communication, effective planning, problem-solving, and the achievement of required outcomes, fostering a culture of one-team.
Requirements:
- A university degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of recent management/leadership experience in an operational role.
- Knowledge of supply chain management.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement is an asset, particularly in implementing lean strategies
- Strong leadership, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience as a media spokesperson is an asset.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent skills in interpersonal communication, leadership, motivation, and team building.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed performance targets.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Close ties to the community and in-depth knowledge of the area are strong assets.
- Experience in program management and human resource management in a unionized environment is an asset.
