A place for Good Food – Good Drink – and Good ConversationWe chose the name St. James Corner because the St. James Gate brewery is world renowned for its care and attention to detail, like our architect and carpenters took in building our pub. We want our customers to feel as though they are in an authentic Pub in the middle of Ireland.We are looking for a professional Sous Chef to help lead our kitchen, following our Chef’s specifications and guidelines. The successful candidate will employ their culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our guests’ satisfaction.ResponsibilitiesHelp in the preparation and design of all food and menusProduce high quality plates in both design and taste Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standardsFill in for the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessaryResourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situationManage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff’s performance and labour goalsOrder supplies to stock inventory appropriatelyComply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standardsMaintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests1+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or Head Chef * Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures * Excellent record of kitchen and staff management * Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions * Familiar with industry’s best practices * Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
