The Juravinski Hospital & Cancer Centre, located on the brow of the central Hamilton escarpment, is best known as a leading regional acute and tertiary care centre, and home to a community emergency department, general medical and intensive care service, and a robust surgical program, along with the Regional Cancer Program. The 3 sites – Juravinski, Hamilton General, and McMaster sites Nuclear Medicine Department – support a diverse patient population including pediatrics, providing service to all clinical programs with an emphasis on Cardiac, Oncology, Neuro, and Vascular.Position SummaryWorking closely with other members of the department, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs clinical imaging procedures while maintaining an environment which is patient-focused. Other responsibilities include:Ensuring all procedures are performed according to established protocols and standards of practice and in a safe and compliant manner according to CNSC regulations;Participating in various training programs and research studies;Contributing to an environment which supports clinical excellence and continuous learning.ScheduleWork Hours: Monday to Friday; daysQualificationsGraduate of an approved training program in Nuclear Medicine TechnologyCurrent member in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologist of Ontario (CMRITO)Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) registrationAbility and willingness to work with and teach studentsDemonstrated ability to work responsibly in a team environmentDemonstrated effective communication, organization and interpersonal skillsEffective problem-solving skills, critical thinking and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environmentEvidence of participation in ongoing education & professional developmentMembership in the CAMRT/OAMRT preferredAs a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to Employee Health Services.GuidelinesHamilton Health fosters a culture of patient and staff safety, whereby all employees are guided by our Mission, Vision, Values, and Values Based Code of Conduct.
