IO delivers some of the most complex, ambitious commercial and land development solutions for the Province and continues to evolve and expand its capabilities to maximize its public impact and deliver on its vision of creating a connected, modern and competitive Ontario.Reporting to the VP, Internal Audit, you will support the operational execution of the Internal Audit function at IO to provide independent, objective assurance and advice designed to add value and improve the organization’s operations. Through Internal Audit’s direct reporting to the Audit Committee and collaborating with the Executive team, you will help the organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control processes. Additionally, this role will be a key contributor to development of staff, rooted in IO’s value proposition, leadership development framework, and employee value proposition.  What You Will Do: Operationalize execution of the Internal Audit plan by leading the day-to-day execution of internal audit engagements, the CEO/CFO certification program and special initiatives to identify, evaluate and report on the organization's risk areas, management's system of internal controls, and compliance with policies and procedures.  Manage and maintain the quality of deliverables across all aspects of internal audit engagements (covering planning, execution and reporting) by ensuring utilization of IO’s risk-based internal audit methodology, independence and objectivity. Provides advice to the Executive team and key functional leads on areas of risk/improvement to add value and drive continuous improvement to the organization’s operations.  Assist in the development of the annual Internal Audit plan in line with IO’s enterprise risks and strategic objectives, administration of the annual budget, and monitoring of status against plans. Manage external service providers by overseeing execution of work and monitoring of effectiveness.  Develops and maintains strong relationships with senior stakeholders to strengthen confidence and trust in Internal Audit by providing timely strategic, risk, governance and controls support to IO business teams responsible for implementation enterprise initiatives.  Identifies opportunities and leads implementation of internal audit process improvements and ensures timely implementation.  Liaise with IO’s Enterprise Risk team to support the identification of new/emerging risks, where appropriate, through the daily execution of internal audit engagements.  Leads and supports developing a high performing team of Senior Internal Auditors and managers through timely feedback, ongoing coaching and mentorship.  What We Are Looking For: Many years of related progressive experience in Internal Audit, preferably within the public sector/public agency, public accounting or construction/capital projects  A professional designation such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA), Certified Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)  Sound knowledge of accounting, auditing and risk management frameworks ( COSO 2013, COBIT, ISO 31000), audit practices, procedures and relevant internal auditing standards ( IIA).  Knowledge of the public sector risk and audit environment and audit software tools.  Experience with P3 or large complex capital projects ( civil, social, transit) and delivery models considered a strong asset  Strong interpersonal and oral/written/presentation skills and experience presenting to Executive Management level stakeholders.  Leadership skills to motivate team members, set expectations and standards.  Experience with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).  Experience with utilizing data analytics in performing audits is an asset What's In It For You: Commitment to creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture that promotes a sense of belonging and represents and reflects the needs of the communities we serve.
