Job Title: Human Resources DirectorLocation: Edmonton, AlbertaIndustry: Oil and GasJob Summary: The Human Resources Director will lead the HR department and oversee all HR functions within the organization. This role is crucial in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the company’s goals and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The HR Director will work closely with senior management to foster a positive work environment and drive organizational success.Key Responsibilities:Strategic HR Planning: Develop and implement HR strategies that support the company’s business objectives and promote a positive organizational culture.Talent Acquisition and Management: Oversee recruitment processes, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring of top talent. Implement effective onboarding and retention strategies.Employee Relations: Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management. Foster a positive and inclusive workplace environment.Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal employment laws and regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices and legal requirements.Compensation and Benefits: Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs. Conduct regular reviews to ensure market competitiveness.Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and career development. Promote continuous learning and professional growth.HR Metrics and Reporting: Analyze HR data and metrics to provide insights and recommendations to senior management. Prepare and present regular reports on HR activities and performance.Health and Safety: Oversee health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment. Promote a culture of safety and compliance with industry standards.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., CHRP, SHRM-SCP) is preferred.Minimum of 10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the oil and gas industry.Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations in Alberta.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to develop and implement effective HR strategies.Experience with HRIS and other HR software tools.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
