Role Overview As a key member of our AI Research Team, you will play a central role in driving AI initiatives aimed at improving Novari solutions. Responsibilities: AI Project Support: Collaborate with our AI Research Team to support ongoing projects focused on the development and application of artificial intelligence in healthcare. Assist in data collection, preprocessing, and analysis to facilitate project progress. Algorithm Development: Contribute to the design and implementation of AI algorithms aimed at solving complex healthcare challenges. Participate in algorithm testing, validation, and optimization to ensure accuracy and reliability. Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of healthcare datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights that inform AI model development. Apply data visualization techniques to show the insights into the data. Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to extract meaningful information and derive actionable conclusions. Model Evaluation: Assist in evaluating the performance of AI models through rigorous testing and validation procedures. Collaborate with team members to refine models based on feedback and empirical findings. Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation of research methodologies, experimental procedures, and findings. Summarize research results in clear and concise reports for internal stakeholders and project collaborators. Collaboration and Communication: Actively participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities. Communicate effectively with team members to contribute ideas, share insights, and address challenges collaboratively. Education and Experience: Pursuing a Bachelor's degree at Queen's University in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering, web design, or a field related to the industry. Strong background in data structures or algorithms gathered from inside or outside of school or work. Basic understanding of programming languages such as Python or R. Basic understanding of object-oriented programming languages such as C#, JAVA. Understanding of basic machine learning concepts and algorithms such as Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Random Forest. Basic knowledge of agile software development processes and life cycle model. Experience with data manipulation and visualization tools such as Pandas, Numpy, and Matplotlib. Basic understanding of deep learning algorithms and frameworks, such as Pytorch, would be an asset. Experience with Generative AI tools would be an asset. Experience with mainstream cloud computing platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, would be a plus. Able to effectively communicate technical concepts to other technical and non-technical staff members. Organizational Responsibilities: Compliance with all applicable privacy legislation. Continuing professional development to stay current with industry standards. Additional duties as required. Working Conditions: Employee may sit for prolonged periods of time. Prolonged periods of time viewing computer monitor and keyboarding. Tight deadlines, with multiple and rapidly changing priorities. Interacting with internal and external stakeholders. Open office floor plan with ambient noise and a regular flow of people around the office. Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, starting at 0800, 0830 or 0900, as agreed upon between the employee and their manager. Minimum hours of work each week is 40, unless otherwise agreed to between the employee and their manager. Employee may be required to work additional hours/days to meet deadlines.
